7 March 2015 - Our cars were seen at the NG Wes Kerk & The Vryheid Flying Club

Participation and Exhibiting at the NG Wes Kerk and the Vryheid Flying Club
At the last club meeting a request was received from 2 entities, namely the NG Kerk Wes, and the Vryheid Flying Club to exhibit our cars at both the fundraising day and bazaar respectively.
Both were being held on the same day, namely Saturday 7th March 2015.
At the Wes Kerk we displayed our vehicles in an "amphitheatre-like" area, and on arrival, we were introduced to the public with the make of the car and its' respective owner.
Our members enjoyed the various snacks and food exhibited by the various stalls.   Our team leader made a calling and we departed to proceed to the Vryheid Flying Club where we were to display our vehicles.
What an interesting day and the great display of various types of aircrafts and gyrocopters that had flown in to support the Vryheid Flying Club's "fly-in"!
From a personal perspective, I believe both fundraising events were a resounding success.
Many thanks to our members, namely Allan, Harry, Andre, Dirk, Terry, Jan, Colin, Des and Willem who made the effort in supporting the above charitable events.

1 March 2015 - Bowling in Paulpietersburg

The annual "Bowls Challenge" in Paulpietersburg.
The annual "Bowls Challenge" was programmed for 22 February.   However, due to bad weather, it was cancelled and postponed to the 1st March.
The message from Harry was:   "Come rain, hail or snow, we were going to Paulpietersburg".
Well, rain, yes on departure from Vryheid, however, weather in Paulpietersburg was perfect.   Acting chairman for the Paulpietersburg bowling club, John Darlow, called in his fellow bowlers and awaited our arrival.
Our teams were:   Harry, Cassie, Kowie, Allan, Terry, Neels, Des and Albie and partners.   We had a very challenging 12 sets with great fun and laughter to all participants and spectators alike.
Well, no sooner had we walked off the greens, the rains surprised us once again.   However, with good clubhouse facilities and a braai and refreshments, we enjoyed good fellowship.
Our thanks to the members who made the effort to participate in the bowls challenge and also our thanks to John Darlow and fellow bowlers for organising the bowls challenge.
Time was once again calling and we were on our way home in a beautiful sunny afternoon.
